Raqs Sharqi or Oriental Dance
Saadia, Algerian born, began her career as a cabaret dancer touring with famous Arab artists in many different countries. She later devoted her work to a more theatrical research with a contemporary approach. She has developed a technique to enhance her artistic quest level by refining her body to be instrumental to the art of Oriental dance, where the spirit, emotions and the art of improvisation prevail.
The traditional veil, which enhances the body in a sculptural way, according to Saadia, is her main dancing theme. For her it is like a mask where she feels more comfortable behind it to explore her intimate world in order to liberate the spirit.
