Mohammed, 16, walks out of his home at the Rashidiyeh refugee camp, southern Lebanon. Poor families, who are already suffering in the aftermath of a conflict, are the worst affected by these bombs. They have to pay ongoing medical costs for family members who survive an encounter with a cluster bomb but are left maimed and unable to work. Victims suffer psychological trauma and isolation, and their educational and employment opportunities decrease and they thus sink deeper into poverty.
